DAILY MEDITATIONS VIA WHATSAPP
December 1, 2023Knysna and Plett: watch this space!
December 1, 2023Author and Pastor, Giselle Timble wrote, “Memory is a powerful thing. It’s not just a recollection of facts, but a storehouse of emotions. Pondering our past has the power to chain us or to free us…”
For many, 2023 was a difficult year – maybe the death of a loved one, reclining health; deciding to move from a cottage to frail care. For others it may have been the best year ever (and now I’m not talking about rugby!): perhaps the birth of a little one; or a visit to children on another continent.
As a congregation, standing on the brink of a new year, it is also good to take time to think of who we are, and what we’ve been keeping ourselves busy with.
A very good friend of mine wrote his impressions of our congregation:
“This is a congregation where unity and silence, listening and action become one. Members genuinely care for others, their fellow congregation members, their friends and family, and their households.
With beautiful liturgy, they are also church innovators, living to make Christ known. As dedicated followers of Jesus Christ and witnesses of God’s grace, they are devoted to serving and caring for others.”
Maybe it sounds too good to be true? But, at least this is what my dream for us is in 2024!
Katie
It was a good year! One highlight was definitely the confirmation of Katelyn Laube as newest member of our congregation.
Welcome Katie!!
And may your light shine wherever you go!.
