“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 – NIV)
What a beautiful saying this text for February is! It reminds me of the finity of our lives, and that God is the one that sustains us. As Job 33:4 says: “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
We are tagged: Made by God. Made for God. And we do come with a manual. (As the saying goes: “if everything else fails, read the manual.”) As John Maxwell writes: ““God is not a harsh taskmaster who simply wants obedience. His instructions in his Word for thinking and acting righteously are for our benefit. He knows that when we live according to his ways, it brings us joy, fulfillment, and meaning in life.”
My wish for you during the month of February is that you may live a joyful and meaningful life. And may you allow the Scriptures to form you.
