Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a memorable Christmas Eve!

Hope is not an idea. Or a wish. Or optimism. For Christians, hope is a Person. Jesus, the Christ. I am so grateful that we could celebrate this reminder a week before we enter a new year. Our anchor of hope has a name: “Immanuel”.  As Christmas Tide only ends the 6th of January, we can still bless one another with a “Merry Christmas.” “Geseënde Kersfees.” “Frohe Weinachten.”

As always, our Christmas Eve was celebrated with a “Carols by Candlelight”-service under a huge christmas tree.  Guests, and family members – far and wide – came along to make this service one of the highlights in our church year.

The first to welcome the congregants on the church premises were two beautiful horses roaming around – as if nature were also celebrating!

Going back to our own houses, each with a candle in the hand, we continued humming the age-old melodies: “Joy to the world, the Lord has come.”
