CCW – CIRCUIT CHURCH WEST

DAILY MEDITATIONS
November 4, 2024We had a wonderful “PRE-HOUSE WARMING CELEBRATION” at our new property (1 Cross Street, George) on Saturday, 5 October. Thank you to everyone who attended this occasion. It is with great joy that we look forward to a new phase in our congregation’s life knowing that so many congregants have taken upon them the challenge of rebuilding a new home for Lutherans in our beloved Southern Cape. Thank you to all who worked hard to make this day a day to remember.

We also thank the building commission for all their hard work: Henning von Platen (chair); Rolf Stumpfe, Martin Detering, and Gerhard Eggers. You sacrifice much of your time and we truly appreciate the second mile you walk.
Here are a few photo’s, more are available on our webpage.

ERNTEDANKFEST (6 October)
On Sunday, 6 October, we celebrated our annual “Erntedankfest”. For this occasion we asked our members to bring produce for the new SANTA Crèche in Great Brak River. As is custom, we continued our koinonia after the worship service with refreshments under the trees.

During the worship services a mosaic cross, made by Katelyn Laube at the youth camp, was handed over to Pastor Ronell. Here, she stands with her grandfather, Martin Detering. We will make sure that there will be a spot reserved for the artwork in our new church building. Thank you, Katy!
SANTA CRÈCHE
We also received donations and offerings to the amount of R4620, which was paid into the account of the Santa Crèche. We thank every member of our congregation who contributed to this project. Unfortunately we cannot place many photo’s on our social media platforms, due to the POPI law (which does not allow us to show photo’s of childrens’ faces.)
Please pray for Carmen and John, the “adopted parents” of these children. They are two inspirational people who show us what can be done with the multiplying of “two fish and five loaves of bread.”

OCTOBER’S BIBLE STUDY IN GEORGE
It was such an unexpected cold day in late October, that our host, Elsa Graser, made a fire in her fireplace.
As always, we finished the morning off with homebaked refreshments.

Reformation Sunday in Pacaltsdorp: 26 October
Pacaltsdorp hosted an ecumenical worship service in preparation for Reformation Day on 31 October. Reverend Gerard Human (From the UCCSA in Pacaltsdorp) was the preacher for the day, and Pastor Ronell Bezuidenhout was the liturgist during the communion celebration. Thank you to the members of our congregation who attended this important day.
