LANKWITZ LUTHER ANGEL FACES PRE-SCHOOL – DYSSELSDORP

In our previous Pastoral Note we asked for groceries for the Kindergarten in Dysselsdorp. (See May 2024). We left with a full load of packages in Martin Detering’s bakkie, but we returned with hearts filled with warmth and happiness! Just look at these happy faces with their hand-knitted jerseys and beanies! And, as always, there was a lot of singing and dancing.

“ADOPT A NEEDY CHILD”:
With our recent visit in May to the preschool in Dysselsdorp, we were struck by the great need in the community. So many parents cannot afford their children’s school fees; consequently, the children also lack basic writing supplies. The school provides a daily meal for the children, and sometimes even clothes where the need is great.
Raising money is good, but it can never replace personal relationships. In conversation with the social worker, we discussed the possibility of starting an “Adopt a Child” project. With the parents’ permission, you receive a photo of a child, his/her birthday, as well as a basic needs list of school costs. .
There are currently seven children that urgently need help.
