Easter Festivities

The balmy evenings tell us; the new season has arrived! This is the season that teaches us that only through letting go, new growth can happen. Isn’t this what we have been practising the past weeks during Lent: through fasting, we let go to spend more time with God; with penitence we let go of that which brings a divide between us and God; with almsgiving (or caring) we open our hands and hearts for those who are in need.

After this last week of Lent – The Holy Week – a new liturgical season is also arriving: EASTERTIDE. Our spiritual Lenten pilgrimage started on Ash Wednesday, and is soon coming to an end with our spiritual pilgrimage approaching Maundi Thursday (or Holy Thursday), commemorating Jesus’ washing the feet of his disciples.

On Good Friday (“Karfreitag”) – 29 March 2024 at 10:00.  – Holy Communion will be celebrated. This will be a multilingual service with a German sermon (Liturgist is Martin Detering.)

We will have a special Easter Sunday (31 March) celebration from 10:00*to 12:00

This joyful day will be conducted in three movements:

• Prayers (in the Memorial Garden)
• Praise (in the Chapel)
• Playful (under the trees)..

It is impractical to have an Easter “Breakfast @ Sunrise” as many of our congregants come from afar. Instead, the Church Committee invites you to a joyful Easter Celebration under the trees. (We acknowledge that your time is precious with family and friends on this special weekend, therefore, we will end our festival at 12:00).

It will be appreciated if you can bring your own chair, if possible.
